Are the gods 33 crores?

Deities or gods are those, which possess divine qualities. It is a misconception that there are descriptions of many deities in the Vedaas. Some gods are inert and some are conscious. According to the so-called Hindu scriptures, there are 33 crore deities, whereas in reality there are 33 TYPES of deities. In Sanskrit language, the word ‘koti’ has two meanings – crore and type. According to the Vedaas, none of these 33 deities is worshipable, but the 34th god, the god of the gods, is the creator of this universe and He, only, should be worshipped. Wherever, the words Vishnu, Shiva et cetra are used in the Vedaas, they are meant to describe certain attribute of God. Agnihotra or Havan is the best way of worshipping God.
