PRACTICAL POINTS OF DAILY PRACTICE BASED ON PRINCIPLES OF ARYAS

-We should use logic and rationality in everything we do. Intellect is the greatest of our possessions.

-We should know purpose of our life and endevour to attain our goal.

-We should know God and should understand the means to realize Him.

-We should practice all the eight parts of Yog daily.

-We should include reading or listening to the books written by Rishis in our daily routine.

-We should improve our behaviour with fellow beings starting from our family, freinds and relatives.

-As God pervades everything of the universe and there is nothing without God, we should develop love for other beings and refrain ourselves from criticising and finding fault with others except when it is essential for the welfare of the other beings. Here, we need to understand the feeling of love. This is an emotion, which gets generated by thinking of welfare of other beings. Those other beings may be parents, teachers, friends, acquaintances, husband or wife.

-We are soul and not body. Our body is just a mean available to us to attain our goal. Controller of our body is our Mind, which is in turn is controlled by our breath. A healthy and strong body of an insane or lunatic person is a mere waste. For achieving the purpose of our life, we need to control our mind and since mind is controlled by breath, every person, irrespective of his age, must learn ‘Praanayaam’, that is, regulation of breath.

-We can do nothing without energy. Calm and peaceful mind is a great source of energy. To attach ourselves with this infinite power, we must pay very sincere attention to our breaths.

-There is a great relationship between responsibilities, power and freedom. More the responsibilities are, the more is the power and freedom or in other words, we can say that responsibilities beget power and freedom. For example, prime minister of a country has the responsibilities on his shoulders not of a single family or families of a city but that of the millions of people living in that country. With this responsibility, he assumes great power and great freedom of actions. Power of a person, who assumes responsibility of a billion families is greater than a person, who assumes responsibility of a million families. This shows that and power and freedom are in direct proportion with responsibility. After knowing this relationship, persons desirous of more power and freedom should be curious enough to take more and more responsibility.

-Only present prevails. Past and future exist only for the convenience of the people for thinking of time. But generally, our mind remains busy most of the time in regretting about the past and worrying about the future. Past is unchangeable or irreversible and future has not yet come. So, brooding over ‘past’ and going in the imagination of ‘future’ are both futile. We must remind our mind time and again to be in the ‘present’. If we succeed in making our ‘present’ moment worthwhile, our ‘future’ will automatically be taken care of and nothing can be done about the past mistakes except taking the vow not to repeat them.

-Only external conditions of our body change with the passage of time. Our soul is eternal or remains changeless. Proper understanding of this fact, will enable us not to change with the change of external conditions.

-Calmness and peace are nature of our mind (not of soul) because of its creation out of ‘सत्’ quality of nature but we lose this calmness and peace because of the behaviours of other beings. We must try to change the others towards their ultimate goal but if, we feel that the other person is not ready to change, then, we should accept the other person as he is, lest our calmness and peace are lost. When it is said of accepting the condition, then, we do not mean development of attitude of indifference towards them. Rather, we are required to use our intellect to its optimum capacity to tackle that condition.

-Our calmness and peacefulness should not, at any cost, be decided by others.

-‘Good’ owes its existence to ‘bad’, that is, without ‘bad’, ‘good’ loses its meaningfulness. As such, we need not be afraid of ‘bad’ conditions. It does not mean that we should value ‘good’ and ‘bad’ equally. For bringing calmness and peace in our souls, we must constantly remove our bad habits and inculcate good habits in ourselves. Actually, we can develop or progress only if, we face problems or bad conditions.

-For proper development of our soul, we need both spiritualism and materialism. We cannot reach our ultimate goal with anyone of these two. Materialism refers to thinking and acting towards obtaining worldly things whereas spiritualism refers to thinking and acting towards realizing self and God. Spiritualism gets supplemented by materialism, when we try to be or remain in the nature of soul while dealing with other worldly things.

– Calmness and peace of our soul is possible only if all our actions are for welfare of others. This brings out that if we do not act for the welfare of others despite having the capacity to act so, we cannot attain calmness, peace and happiness. It means that during the period of earning the capacity of doing welfare of others, one cannot attain calmness, peace and happiness. While happiness refers to pleasurefulness gained by soul through senses, bliss is pleasurefulness gained by soul without any external mean by the company of God and God only.

-We must extract some morning and evening period for enhancement of our self. This can be done only if know God, who is present in our soul as well as outside it. As it will be meaningless of knowing our body without knowing the breathing, in the same way, it is totally meaningless to know self without knowing God.
